![]() One warning: don’t torrent the software! It’s FREE on their website so you can easily test it out for as long as you wish before upgrading if need be, to a paid version. Starter DJs can work on their craft using this DJ software without having to pay for it. (also similar when comparing the SDJ non beta, there is always a big difference with resources used) I would love if VDJ wanted to use more resources for any additional improvements.Well, Virtual DJ is free for non-professional use at home. here is comparison snapshot of SDJ 3.0.0.478 with VDJ 7151, both running the same 32 beat loop of the same track. And do not know if SDJ using much more system resources is a positive (able to create, different audio with more cpu, gpu processing and ram), or a negative (since it is easy to poorly code software to hog resources). _ Have always wondered why there is such a difference in system resource use between the 2 softwares. Switching from the most most versatile and amazing Virtual DJ, would never be a thought. for what is the equivalent of SDJ Melody? (SDJ Melody, seems not to be the same as VDJ Instu) Again making a 1 to 1, comparison difficult. listening to the same track on loop, I agree that the SDJ drum stem is preferred. They probably also used stems form VDJ to train their model.Īs for the stems, the separation is better sounding with SDJ □□♂️ The vocals and the drums are where I noticed it the most!! I have also tried the SDJ 3.0, and it is hard to compare apples to oranges, since SDJ, it seems, has divided the audio spectrum into 4 stems compared with VDJ 5 stems. I don't think that this is a surprise, seeing how much more time they had to implement their algorithm. I also tested the SDJ and VDJ side by side and I would agree that the Serato algorithm is a bit better. That's definitely a feature which would be great to have in VDJ. Also VDJ does need to create a better pad page with the effects and make them post fader when used with stems □□ +1 for the pad page effects of Serato Stems. Their separation engine is better sounding according to my ears……. As for the stems, the separation is better sounding with SDJ □□♂️ The vocals and the drums are where I noticed it the most!! Flame me if you want but remember I am a VDJ user since back at like version 4 and have never used anything else, tried others but always used VDJ. There always has been, SDJ has to have some underlying Compressor or something. Testing both myself on the same equipment with the same track, and I use nothing but VDJ for my gigs I can say there is a clear difference in sound. So for me VDJ is still the one, but we should not relax in terms of where the competition is or going. In fact i remember the envious eyes i used to get from SDJ users years back when i could HID straight into CDJs at the club without the need for silly SL1/2/3 boxes etc. Simply put you cant as its not supported and is part of the reason why i chose VDJ many years ago. Reason being, I challenge any SDJ users to connect to my XDJ-RX2 and use it via HID. I downloaded the Beta of SDJ and its clear to hear the difference. Hence my comment in regards to if there any improvements to the stems that can be made in VDJ. Also VDJ does need to create a better pad page with the effects and make them post fader when used with stems □□ Have to agree with you here. ![]()
